On a monthly basis, Mustafa George (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) visits Masjid Umar Ibn Al Khattab, HartfordConnecticut.

One of the lectures that he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) has delivered at his masjid has been titled: Lecture on Aqidah

From the numerous benefits contained with it is this particular one reminds us all about the fact that all that we are required to do, is to convey the message of al-Islam, in the best way possible and guidance is not to be found in our hands, but is in fact in the Hands of Allah alone.

So, You Missed the Rukoo'? Don't Just Stand There! - Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson

In this benefit, Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) explains what leads some people to a mistake that is common and that is missing the rukoo' (bowing) position of the congregational prayer, they refrain from joining the prayer until the imam begins the next rak'ah. This is due to them making the assumption that since they have missed the rukoo' they have missed the rak'ah. So, there is no point in them prostrating.

This misunderstanding is examined closely and identified for what it is: the very rationale of Iblees himself, as he was ordered to prostrate with a direct order, yet he rationalized and thought of reasons why he should not.

The benefit has been extracted from class 35 of the Umdat al-Ahkaam series delivered at al-Masjid al-Awwal on the 17th of Dhul-Qi'dah 1437.

The Importance of Aspiring Companionship! - Abu Idrees Muhammad

Sometimes when I listen to audio with the intention of extracting a benefit I had heard or it may have been suggested by someone else,  I decide that it is far more beneficial for myself and others, if I post the complete lecture or the vast majority of it.

This is one such occasion!  The audio is part of a lecture from a series titled: Lessons in ‘The Virtues of Knowledge, the Manners of Seeking It, and the Status of Its People'  lesson 13 by Abu Idrees Muhammad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala)

Without any further ado, here is that edited audio.  Truly inspiring audio we need to make time to listen to.  May Allah keep us sincere and add these actions to our account of righteous deeds.

How Abandoning the Scholars of Ahlus Sunnah Lead the People to Misguidance and Destruction – Abu Idrees Muhammad

In these very testing times when there is a lot of misguidance around, it is more important than ever that we return our affairs back to the Scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah with the intent of seeking guidance from them and thus saving ourselves and our families from misguidance and destruction.

Here is an extremely important lecture on an extremely important subject matter delivered by Abu Idrees Muhammad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) during the Manchester Summer Conference 2019 on the 23rd of June.

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) begins with establishing the reasons and the evidence for adhering to the scholars of Ahlus- Sunnah. Using verses from the Qur’an and Hadiths from the Sunnah he shows that it is from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah. He also gives examples from the companions. He also gives examples from our scholars of today.

Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullah Ta'ala) said: “When fitnah comes, the scholars know about it. When it leaves, every ignorant person becomes aware.”.

“The death of 1 scholar is more beloved to Iblees than the death of 70 devout worshippers."

Hamdood al-Qisaar (rahimahullah Ta'ala) was asked. “Why is the speech of the Salaf more beneficial than our speech?” He replied: “Because they spoke to bring honour to Islam and bring honour to the Most Merciful. As for us, we only speak to bring honour to ourselves, seeking the Dunya and to please the people."

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah Ta'ala) said: “Sincerity and love for praise do not come together in one heart, just like water doesn’t come together with fire”.

He also covers the manners one should have with knowledge and the scholars.

Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullah Ta'ala) said: “Know that Ahlus-Sunnah were few in number before you, and they will be few in number in the future. They are the people that when the wretched ones cause confusion, they do not follow them. Nor do they sway with the people of innovation. But they remain patient upon their Sunnah (the way of the Salaf) until they meet their Lord in that state. So likewise, you be the same, in shaa Allah”

As usual, a little digital remastering has taken place to remove excessive background noise and improve the overall sound quality of this audio file, walhamdullillah.

I can't emphasise enough, the importance of taking time out to listen to this lecture fully.

Evil Craving for Wealth & Status - Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson

This is a lecture that was delivered by Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) on the evening of Saturday preceding the 17 of Rajab 1437 at Masjid Ahlul Quran Wal Hadeeth in Washington DC to be reminded about the subject of the evil craving for wealth & status based upon the hadeeth collected by the Shaikh, the Imaam, the distinguished scholar, Shaikh-ul-Islam, remainder of the noble Salaf, Zaynuddeen Abul-Faraj ‘Abdur-Rahmaan, son of the Shaikh and the Imam Shihaabuddeen Ahmad, son of the Shaikh and the Imaam – Ibn Rajab al-Baghdaadee, al-Hanbalee (rahimahullah Ta’ala) said: Imaam Ahmad, an-Nasaa’ee, at-Tirmidhee and Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh report the hadeeth of Ka’b ibn Maalik al-Ansaaree (radiAllahu anhu) from the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) that he said: “Two hungry wolves let loose among sheep are not more harmful then a person craving after wealth and status is to his Deen (Religion).” at-Tirmidhee said, “It is hasan saheeh.”

It is reported by Ahmad (3/456,460), an-Nasaa’ee in al-Kubraa as occurs in Tuhfatul-Ashraaf of al-Mizzee (8/316), at-Tirmidhee (no.2376), Ibn Hibbaan (no.2472), Nu`aym ibn Hammaad in his Zawaa’id upon azZuhd (no.181), ad-Daarimee (2/304), at-Tayaalisee (no.2201) and al-Baghawee in Sharhus-Sunnah (14/258) and its chain of narration (isnaad) is saheeh (authentic) as at-Tirmidhee says.

It is also reported from the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar, Ibn ‘Abbaas, Aboo Hurairah, Usamaah ibn Zayd, Jaabir, Aboo Sa’eed al-Khudree and ‘Aasim ibn ‘Adiyy al-Ansaree, (radiAllahu anhum ajma’een).

Al-Haithumee quoted most of these narrations in Majma`uz-Zawaa`id (10/250) and determined their level of authenticity.

The People Who Talk the Most, Know the Least - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

How many times have the scholars warned against an individual.  Someone they have know personally and have advised for years before coming out and warning about him.  We hear foolish individuals who may not even know their ankle from their elbow, yet they have to give their opinion on an issue.

Listen to this benefit that has has been taken from the 7th lecture from the ongoing series titled: The Three Fundamental Principles taught by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at Masjid al-Hidaayah.

That highlights the fact that an individual must seek knowledge of the deen of al-Islam before speaking about it.
