The Importance of Community Involvement in the Masjid - Hamzah Abdur-Razzaq

Here is a very important lecture that was delivered on the 24th of May, 2024 at Masjid Ibn Baaz, South Philly.

In it, Hamzah Abdur-Razzaq (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) reminds us all about the importance of the community being involved in the masjid.

The masjid doesn't run itself!  It requires that people take on various roles, to make sure the community and others can fully benefit from this important establishment.

The lecture was originally posted on the official Spreaker account of the masjid.

it has been digitally edited before being posted below, walhamdulillah.

Why the Attitude! - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

This lecture, like many was found on the YouTube channel of Umm Uthmaan al-Majariyyah (may Allah have mercy upon her.

Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) starts the lecture with the following introduction, which I highly recommend that you read, prior to listening to the lecture, barak Allahu feekum!:

He says: "I have a very important advice to give and it is something that I hope by the permission of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala that the sisters will benefit from and I hope by the permission of Allah (subhanahu wa Ta’ala) that the brothers will benefit from and the advice that I have to give is concerning what we find with some Muslim women not just in this country and not just in western society but everywhere in the world and many countries where the people have been affected by western culture or they have been affected by concepts that are un-Islamic. Whether that came from the west or whether that came from some Muslims who had some deviance or whatever the case. And it is the issue of a woman having a bad attitude. Woman having a bad and a negative attitude whether that is towards her husband or towards her children or towards any member of the community or anybody who is a non-Muslim. A man he may arrive in his home one day, he feels so good. He’s almost whistling! He comes home everything is all right! He just worked very hard all day.  Took care of his business.  He prayed in the masjid.  He talked with his brothers. He picked something up for his wife on the way home and he comes in the house and there’s a storm inside! it’s raining and it’s pouring! He doesn’t know what the problem is! Without a doubt, there are some people who, if they knew the reality of their situation and the reality of their behavior! Some sisters that if they knew the reality of their behavior and the reality of their etiquettes or their lack thereof. Rather towards their husband, That they would know that the majority of their time is spent in what is full blown nushūz (marital discord).  Full blown nushūz every day she’s on a different level of nushūz. She is the embodiment of marital discord and she thinks that this behavior, that her character. that it is something that makes her respectable or something that makes her honorable and she thinks that it is a demonstration of what she thinks of some type of strength. We want to talk today about the reality of this problem because it is on different levels some women they have it a little and some women they have it a lot and we’re not saying that the brothers are excluded from this because we’re going to talk about the reason for the attitudes of some of our sisters and acknowledge that a great part of the problem many times is us and we’re going to talk about the harms of this problem if it is not solved and we’re going to talk about the cure and the solution for this issue."

It has been digitally edited before being posted below, walhamdulillah.

Get Off the Streets! - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

When Abu Suhailah Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) was the imam of Masjid Rahmah, Newark, New Jersey, he gave a passionate khutbah about the importance of staying off the streets.  This was delivered following the deaths of two young Muslim brothers during the month of Ramadhan, who were brutely gunned down on the streets of Newark, along with three other people.  May Allah have mercy upon them; it is a serious plague hurting many Muslim communities around the world, and Allah is whose aid is sought. May Allah preserve and bless him (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) for this tremendous work that he has put forth with Allah's permission to help rectify this community, Aameen.

Dua of Using the Bathroom, Explained! - Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree

Here are two dua's that are made at the time of using the bathroom:

Before entering the toilet:

                                         بِسْمِ الله ) اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الْخُـبْثِ وَالْخَبائِث)
(In the name of Allah). O Allah, I take refuge with you from all evil and evil-doers.

After leaving the toilet:

                                                                   غُفْـرانَك
I ask You (Allah) for forgiveness.

Listen to Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) breakdown their explanation into its various parts.
