Here s a benefit that has been extracted from a lecture delivered by Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at the Causes of Weakness in the Ummah and the Means to its Rectification: Birmingham Conference 2014.
In this benefit, he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) bring some clarity regarding some of the following accusations that are and have been attributed to the great companion, Uthmaan ibn Affan (radiAllahu anhu) that lead to his (radiAllahu anhu's) killing.
- They said: He (radiAllahu anhu) burnt the copies of the Qur'aan.
- He (radiAllahu anhu) placed his family members in positions of authority.
- They said: He (radiAllahu anhu) was absent or fled the battle of Uhud,
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
