Abu Ishaaq Nadeem Ahsan-Shah (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) asked Shaykh Abdur-Rahman al-Muwasi (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) the following question: "There are some students they study in Islamic universities, but they’re not given an opportunity to call, to give da'wah when they go back to their centres, their masjids and what is your advice therefore, to the masjid and also to those students?"
A very important and valuable piece of advice about the importance of both sincerity and patience with the decree of Allah not seeking notoriety,
The scholar, Shaykh Al-Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) said:
"This is a glad tiding for the students of knowledge: If one intends to seek knowledge, desiring by way of it to benefit others, to defend the sunnah of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم and to spread the religion of Allāh upon the Earth, but this has not been decreed for him. For example, if he were to die during his pursuit of knowledge, then indeed the reward of what he intended and sought after will be written for him." - Explanation of Al-Aqīdah Al-Wasitiyyah (2/148) [Source]
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim
