Afflictions of all Sorts are Either a Test or a Punishment so React Appropriately - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

This is a khutbah that was delivered by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) on the 28th of February  2020 at Masjid Ad Da'wah Ilat Tawheed and later posted on their official SoundCloud account.

Here is a benefit related to being grateful and patient in times of difficulty from Shurayh al-Qaadee *rahimahullah Ta'ala) who said: "Indeed I am afflicted with a misfortune and I thank Allah, I thank Allah that it wasn't a greater calamity, I thank Him for providing me with patience upon it, I thank Him for granting me success to say: Indeed we belong to Allãh and onto Him, we will return, for the reward I hope from it, and I thank him for it not being a calamity in my religion." [as-Siyar (vol. 4/ pg. 105)]

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
