Etiquettes of Using a Cell Phone - Raha Batts

This is a khutbah by Raha Batts (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that was posted on the official SoundCloud account of Masjid ash-Shura on the 4th of April 2022.  It was possibly delivered the previous Jumu'ah the 31st of March 2022.
 
Many of the points in this beneficial reminder are related to the phone is general and can be found in a small translated booklet that was written by Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd (rahimahullah Ta'ala) titled: The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone

In it, he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) mentions some specific points related to cell phone use in these times that we live in.

2 - Don’t Overburden the One You are Calling
3 - Don’t Have a Bad Thought About the One You are Calling
4 - Call at an Appropriate Time
5 - Don’t Add People to a Groups without Permission
6 - Turn of the Notification & Ringer Upon Entering the Masjid 7 - Stay Distant from Using Musical Ringtones
8 - Stay Away from Using Images on You Lock Screen
9 - Don't Use the Qur’an or Adhaan as Your Ringtone
10 - Don’t Put Your Phone on Speakerphone without Consent
11 - Stay Away from Recording Private Phone Conversations
12 - Don’t Send Around Lewd Images, Messages or Jokes
13 - Don’t Spy on the Phones of the People
14 - Avoid being Distracted by Your Phone while Driving
15 - Don’t Use Phone to Cause Corruption!
16 - Stop Spreading the Affairs of the People
17 - Don't Take Lightly the Sins Committed on Your Phone
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
