Here is a benefit that I came across on YouTube.
In this benefit Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahulllah Ta'ala) was asked the following question:
Some of the Muslims have started doing something like the Christians do. The Christians have some kind of prayer meeting and get together and pray for people in the community who need help. Seems like almost every Friday Jumu'ah, we have somebodies cousin in Pakistan is sick or someone in Jordan has died, make du'a for them, or something like this. So, the general person who doesn't feel okay with that, they don't know what to do when the du'a is going on. They want to make dua for someone maghfirah (forgiveness), but they have a feeling that this might not be right. Is there any basis for this action, number one and number two, what should we do while that type of supplication is going on?

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gave the following concise answer to this question.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim
