We often hear of people spending time in prison as Muslims and before embracing Some of these people fondly remember the reasons foe which they were locked up. Stabbing someone, shooting someone else, dealing drugs or even killing a person or many people.
Even after Islam, some of these individuals shamelessly talk about their life of crime often glorifying their experiences and their "perceived" reputation "on the streets.
Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah Ta'ala) also severed tine in prison like some of the scholars before him, they it was not for the crimes that the people glorify.
