Islam's Respect for Intellect & The Patrick Day Boxing Tragedy - Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson

Here is a khutbah recording that has been edited to remove a large amount of its echo, that was delivered on the 18th of October 2019 at al-Masjid al-Awwal, Pittsburgh, PA, by Abul-'Abbaas Moosaa Richardson (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) and posted on the official Spreaker account of the masjid.  In it he (hafidhullah Ta'ala) reminds us of how all of the Prophets of divine revelation throughout history have brought messages which emphasise the importance of preserving five basic human rights: religion, physical safety, property, ancestry, and intellect. With special focus on the fifth one, he reminds us about the harms of boxing and the verdict issued on it by scholars like Shaykh Ibn Baaz and Shaykh al-Albaanee (rahimahumullah Ta'ala), in light of the death of 27 year-old Patrick Day, a tragic and unjustifiable loss of precious human life.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
