Here is a question that was recently asked to Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Ghaalib al-Muwasi (hafidhahullah Ta'ala):
My question, may Allah preserve you, (the) Shaykh is doing a dars after maghrib and we come a pray Salatu-Asr. We pray Salat al-Asr and people pray and some people stay, some people leave. People reserve the whole front row by leaving their bags and everything there, reserving that spot, preventing anybody else from sitting in the front row. They may leave the masjid, go away, do business, whatever they’re going to do. Come back five minutes before Maghrib, take that spot back and take that place, even though other people have been in the masjid all that time waiting. What's the ruling with regards to this?
He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gave the following answer:
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
