Taking a Sutrah - Some Principles - Fareed Abdullah

Here is an explanation of some of the principles related to taking a sutrah. A sutrah is an object used by a person performing salah as a barrier between himself and one passing in front of him. The person praying should be positioned at less than or equal to three forearms' length away from the Sutrah.

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]
