The Ideal Mentality of a Muslim - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

Here is an exceptional lecture that was originally delivered at 1MM by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that gives a beautiful review of some insightful passages from the works of Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him). Fudayl Ibn Iyaad (رحمه الله) said: "Contemplation is a mirror that will show you clearly your good deeds and your bad deeds" 

Sufyān ibn ʽUyaynah (رحمه الله ) said: "When a person contemplates and thinks frequently then he will find a lesson in every single thing." 

Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali  (رحمه الله ) said: "Everything in this world reminds a person of the hereafter." 

Then he mentioned the changing of seasons, the falling of the leaves and these sorts of things, a person can find everything that they come across in this world something that will remind them of Allâh subhanhu wa ta'ala and of the hereafter. " [Lataif Al-Maarif]
