We will not Punish Anyone Until We have Sent them a Messenger - Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree

At the end of a lecture titled: Gathering between Fear & Hope with Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) during the Birmingham Winter Conference 2008 the following question was asked:

How do we gather between the statement of Allah (Azza wa Jaal) that Indeed we are not going to punish anyone until we have sent to them a messenger and the statement of the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) concerning his own father when he responded to the man, that indeed my father and your father are both in the hellfire?

Both the question & answer were translated by Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis (hafidhahullah Ta'ala):
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim
