Here is a timely reminder for us all from Abu Idrees Muhammad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) about the importance of time.  None of us know when it will come, but what is more important is how have we prepared for its coming?

One of the examples that he gives of the fact that there are no guarantees about tomorrow, is what he narrates about what happened to Abu Talhah Dawud Burbank and his wife (rahimahumullah Ta'ala) on the final journey that they undertook for Hajj in 2011).

There are lots of lecture and khutbahs out there dealing with this subject matter.  Here is a short, concise khutbah by Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that I found on the YouTube channel of Umm Uthmaan al-Majariyyah (may Allah have mercy upon her). 

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gives a very relevant khutbah about some issues surrounding the fitnah of tasweer (images) and expounds on how picture -making is a calamity that has fallen on our Ummah today and how it destroyed people of the past.

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

This is a khutbah that was delivered at Masjid us-Sunnah, Cranford, on the 4th Muharram 1443H / 13th August 2021, a beautiful heartfelt reminder which touched many, showing the importance of staying in tune with your children and guiding them to righteousness.

Here is some very concise advice from Shaykh al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) to women regarding affairs related to their establishment of the Salah.

So, what are these three stages of a human life?

1. The Life of this World (Dunya): This is the temporary, physical realm where humanity is tested. Mankind navigates earthly desires, trials, and choices, gathering deeds that will determine their eternal fate.

2. The Realm of the Grave (Barzakh): The transitional phase between the earthly life and the Day of Judgment. Here, the soul rests in a state of existence in the grave, experiencing either peace and glimpses of Paradise or punishment and regret depending on their earthly faith and actions. 

3. The Hereafter (Akhirah): The final, eternal destination. This stage begins with the Day of Resurrection, where all of mankind is gathered, held to account, and ultimately assigned to their everlasting abode in either Paradise (Jannah) or the Hellfire (Jahannam).

I have taken this khutbah due to the immense importance of the subject matter and extracted the following benefits:

Here is a lecture by Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree (rahimahullah Ta'ala) that I found on the YouTube channel of Umm Uthmaan al-Majariyyah (may Allah have mercy upon her).

There are a lot of great lectures out there, but are occasionally of a poor quality.  It a blessing from Allah to be able to clean them up a little, walhamdulillah.  This particular lecture was translated by Abu Talhah Dawood Burbank (rahimahumullah Ta'ala).

As the title alludes, there are two types of resurrection.  The minor resurrection which is the stupor of death and that it came with the truth which is meeting with Allah, the Exalted and the soul will be brought to judgment and will have its reward or punishment which will be advanced to it before the major Day of Resurrection. Then He mentioned the major Resurrection as He, the Almighty says, وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ which means, “And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).” [ القرآن الكريم The Noble Qur'aan, سورة ق  Soorah Qaaf 050, Verse 020]

Here is an extremely beneficial khutbah delivered by Abul-Hasan Malik (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that deals with the importance of compatibility in Creed (Aqeedah) being a prerequisite of marriage. 

Unfortunately, it is impossible to determine the date of the khutbah but it was uploaded more than 10 years ago. 

So, you are looking to get married? What are the questions that you should be asking?

Should they be questions like: "Can you take care of my needs?" "How much money do you have in your account?" "How much money do you earn?" "Can you take care of my bills?"

Should you be looking for how well he is known in the community?

Or, should you be asking about his Deen?  

When asking about his religion should it be superficial questions such as does he drink alcohol, or does he get high?

Or, should you be asking about his Aqeedah, his Salah, and his understanding about the Branches of Tawheed.
