Difference between Ahlus-Sunnah and the Innovators in being Grateful to Allaah - Abu 'Iyaad Amjad Rafiq

Here is a lecture that was delivered at Markaz Muaadh in 2014, by Abu 'Iyaad Amjad Rafiq (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

In it, he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) explains the various terms that were used to describe the people of Sunnah, by the earlier generations.  He speaks about the era wherein an abundance of innovations entered into this ummah, explaining in chronological context. Once these historical foundations are laid down, he clarifies why Ahlus-Sunnah are to be grateful for the guidance Allaah has bestowed upon them.
May Allaah reward our brother for sharing his great insight in this topic.

A Timely Reminder - Shaykh Ahmad az-Zahrani

A few months ago Masjid ash-Shura, from Norfolk, Virginia came as an umrah group.

By the grace of Allah and the permission of its organisers, such as our brother Raha Batts (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) who translated this lecture, a few of the brothers living in and around Makkah were allowed to attend the two lectures that were being delivered on Jumu'ah the 1st of Rajab 1440, for the umrah group.

Here I present to you that recording I made that evening with the consent of our brother and was later posted on their SoundCloud account.

Of the two lectures being delivered that evening (the second being by our Shaykh Mustafa Mubram (hafidhahullah Ta'ala), I sought permission from our brother Raha to be allowed to post some of extracted fawa'id from the first lecture that was delivered by Shaykh Ahmad az-Zahrani (hafidhahullah Ta'ala), on my website.   The Shaykh has been highly praised by our Shaykh, the Allaamah Rabee' ibn Haadee 'Umayr al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

As you will notice that I have left the title as I had labelled it after the kalimah was delivered.

In it, the Shaykh (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) brings 6 key principles, as you will see, that are timely reminders in the religion of al-Islam for how we should behave during times of fitan (pl. of `fitnah (trials, tests & tribulations)) such as the time we (Ahlus-Sunnah) are going through right now.
Extracted benefits:

1 - Conveying the Salams of Shaykh Rabee'
2 - Hold Fast to the Book & the Sunnah
3 - Hold Fast to that which the Senior Scholars are Upon
4 - It is Upon you to Seek Knowledge
5 - Adorn Yourselves with a Virtuous Character
6 - Advice to the Mother & Wife
7 - Lastly, with the Occurrence of Problems

Bad Companionship - An Enemy of the Youth - Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee

This is a 25 minute benefit that highlights the bad companionship, which is an enemy of the youth.  From a series delivered by Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) titled: Advice for Our Youth.

An essential initial listen for both youth and adults.  The question you may be asking yourself is, how is this connected to coffee?  You will have to listen, in order to find out, barak Allahu feekum!

Evils of Music & the Music Industry - Hasan as-Somali

Here is a khutbah that was delivered at Germantown Masjid over 6 years ago, on the 9th of October 2015 by Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

It was posted on their official SoundCloud account about 2 years ago.

Listening to songs is prohibited (harām) due to the saying of Allah:

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ – 31:6

“And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) The “amusement of speech’ is singing as was explained by a group of the Sahābah such as Ibn Mas’ūd (radiyallāhu ‘anhu).

There is a hadeeth reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhāri (no. 5590) that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “There will be a people at the end of time who will make permissible fornication, silk (for men), wine and musical instruments ―Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up.” The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) put musical instruments alongside fornication, wearing of silk for men and the drinking of wine (alcohol) ―all of these things are harām. So this proves that music is harām ―that includes musical instruments and singing. (See Al-Jāmi’ fī Fiqhil-‘Allāmah Ibn Bāz, p. 1203)

Allah stated: “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) Ibn ‘Abbās said: “It refers to singing.” (Tafsīr At-Tabari) Hasan Al-Basrī: said: “The verse was revealed concerning flutes and singing.” (Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr) Ibn Mas’ūd said: “By Allah besides whom there is none worthy of worship, it refers to singing.” And he repeated it three times. And the same was reported from Ibn ‘Umar. (See Ighāthatul-Luhfān of Ibn Al-Qayyim)

Shaikh Al-Albānī explained that the hadeeths forbidding musical instruments are clearcut without ambiguity, except for the simple drum that is played by women at weddings or on ‘Eid. The Four Imāms: Abu Hanīfah, Mālik, Shāfi’i and Ahmad are in agreement upon this forbiddance. (See As-Saheehah 1/145) [www.abukhadeejah.com]

It has been digitally edited to clean up its quality and increase its overall volume, walhamdulillah.

With that introduction, go and listen to this extremely beneficial audio, barak Allahu feekum!
