The People of Innovation Can Hide Everything Except Their Companion - Hasan as-Somali

Often we meet people, we speak to them and what we see from them is Salafiyyah.  We see them implementing the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger.  Then we may see something strange from him.  An opinion he follows or an individual he defends.  It makes us reassess our initial opinion about him.  We don't excuse him from the Manhaj but something doesn't make sense.  Why is this person
defending such-and-such? Why is he making excuses for people like Yusuf al-Qardawi and Sayyid Qutb?  As there are no real excuses that can be made for such an individual.

The more you think about things, the more you question similar situations that have taken place.

You realise that there are many things that you didn't realise.  Things seem to be becoming clearer.  You then decide you look into his companions. Upon further investigation, you realise that his companions are from the Ikhwanis and Qutubis.  After all, he can hide many things, but he can't hide his companions, right?

Here is an excellent lecture by Hasan as-Somali (hafodhahullah Ta'ala) on this exact subject matter.  Delivered on the 22nd of July 2016.  That has been taken from the official Spreaker account of Sunnah Publishing, with their permission.

It has been digitally edited before being released here, walhamdulillah.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Get Off the Streets! - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

When Abu Suhiailah Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) was the imam of Masjid Rahmah, Newark, New Jersey he gave a passionate khutbah about the importance of staying off the streets.  This was delivered following the deaths of two young Muslim brothers during the month of Ramadhan who were brutely gunned down on the streets of Newark, along with three other people.  May Allah have mercy upon them; it is a serious plague hurting many Muslim communities around the world and Allah is whose aid is sought. May Allah preserve and bless him (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) for this tremendous work that he has put forth by Allah's permission to help rectify this community, Aameen.
