Differing in Matters of Fiqh & Blind-Following - Abu Talhah Dawud Burbank

Here is a very important reminder by our noble brother Abu Talhah Dawud Burbank (rahimahumullah Ta'ala) about not differing in matters of Aqeedah.  And in matters of fiqh, it may be permissible to follow the proofs in different ways, even though what is obligatory is to follow the evidence and this is done by referring it back to Allah and His Rasool (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

The problem comes when Shaykh A gives his evidence and you say you are following the position of Shaykh B, when asked about the proofs you say that you don't know the proofs.

Question on Graduation & Higher Education & Teaching Children - Abu Khadeejah 'Abdul-Waahid

The following question was asked to Ustadh Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Waahid (hafidhahullah Ta’ala) at the end of lecture 157 of Sharh Sunnah Barbaharee on the 19th September 2019.

Is it allowed to attend graduation ceremonies?

In this comprehensive answer, he (hafidhahullah Ta’ala) talks about the ceremony forbidden acts of photography, videoing, free-mixing, dressing as they dress, and behaving as they behave.  The shaking of hands between non-related men and women.  They take your money and then want you to attend the ceremony. It is sufficient that they took your money and you passed the exams, take the certificate, go and get a job!

He goes on in detail about the purpose and intent behind pursuing higher education.

He highlights the fact that due to online education there is no need to attend such places where you have to compromise your religion, through online learning, be It for men or women.  For your own benefit or for the benefit of the Ummah.

There is no need for a Muslim who is upon firmness to attend a university physically.

He also talks about the impermissibility of taking a student loan for this purpose.

Education is important whether it be, academic or vocational as long as you don’t take the haraam means of achieving that.

Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin & the One Who Didn't Pray & Fast Previously - Abu Muadh Taqweem Aslam

Ustadh Abu Muadh Taqweem Aslam (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) narrates that someone came to Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-'Abbaad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) and asked him the following question:

"Shaykh, previously I wasn't practicing.  I never used to practice, I never used to pray, I never used to fast. This year, Alhamdulillah I am practicing now, I am fasting.  Do I have to make-up the last year and the year before when I wasn't practicing, I didn't fast?"

NOTE: Just to clarify that this clip has been extracted from a longer piece of audio that was a complete question.  The extracted part has not been taken out of context (as can be found by listening to the complete question.  It is merely being used to highlight the position of this great scholar of Hadeeth with regards to an individual whose situation is such as this

Sincere Advice to Those Who Fell Away from Islam - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

Here is a lecture from a series of lectures delivered by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).  I originally came across this audio file on the YouTube Channel of our sister Umm Uthmaan al-Majariyyah (may Allah have mercy upon her), where she placed a link back to the source on the Masjid al-Wahyain Spreaker Account.

The intent of posting this initial lecture here is not to post the entire series, rather it is to encourage the brothers and sisters to go to the Masjid al-Wahyain Speaker account and listen and even download the series and benefit from the many other audio files available there.

Here is that introductory lecture:
