I remember years ago, while sitting with Abu Talhah Dawud Burbank (rahimahumullah Ta'ala), he mentioned that sisters would visit his wife and seek to discuss various complex issues related to affairs of the religion and see would suggest that they discuss how the ghusl is to be performed correctly. He mentioned that people often are lacking in an understanding of the basics of the religion.

On the 23rd of September 2022, whilst visiting Imam Darimi, Islamabad, Pakistan, a lecture titled: Atheism & Science was delivered by Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at the end of this lecture, he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) to numerous questions.

The following is one of those questions that was addressed during that lecture.  

There are people who proudly claim, that in history Muslims used to have many scientists and invented things like, Ibn Sina, al-Biruni, and the Ummah must return to their knowledge to lead the world.

He (hafidhahallah Ta'ala) gave the following answer.

This is a lecture by Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that was posted a few days ago by Germantown Masjid on their Soundcloud account.

I have taken the audio with permission of Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) & digitally remastered it to remove a lot of background noise, and now post it here for us to benefit from.

 I recently started to listen to the audio that `I thought was going to be an advice for the youth, by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).  After listening to it for a few minutes, I realised that it was in fact a very beneficial question an answer session.

Here is an exceptional lecture that was originally delivered at 1MM by Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that gives a beautiful review of some insightful passages from the works of Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him). A unique evening shared with over 100 attendees locally and more than 500 online live listeners. Recorded at al-Masjid al-Awwal in Pittsburgh on the evening preceding the 12th of Rajab, 1437.

Fudayl Ibn Iyaad (رحمه الله) said: "Contemplation is a mirror that will show you clearly your good deeds and your bad deeds" 

Sufyān ibn ʽUyaynah (رحمه الله ) said: "When a person contemplates and thinks frequently then he will find a lesson in every single thing." 

Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali  (رحمه الله ) said: "Everything in this world reminds a person of the hereafter." 

Then he mentioned the changing of seasons, the falling of the leaves and these sorts of things, a person can find everything that they come across in this world something that will remind them of Allâh subhanhu wa ta'ala and of the hereafter. " [Lataif Al-Maarif]
