Ten Causes for the Expiation of Sins - Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis

This is a khutbah that was delivered by Ustadh Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at Masjid Salafi on the 4th June 2021. The audio was posted the same day on the Masjid's official SoundCloud account.

I have taken the audio and broken it down into its ten points:

Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah Ta'ala) mention that there are ten things that remove the sins:

In the Dunya:

1 - at-Taubat-us-Saadeqah (True Repentance):
2 - al-Istighfaar (Seeking Forgiveness): 3 - al-Hasanaat wal A’maal-us-Saalehah (Good Deeds & Righteous Actions): 4 - Calamities that Come to a Person:
The Remainder have No Connection to the Dunya!
In the Grave:

5 - Supplication of the Believers for the Believer: 6 - Certain Righteous Actions done for the Deceased: 7 - Trials of the Grave:
Yaumul Qiyamah:

8 - Shafaa’ah (Intercession of the Believers for the Believer):
9 - Hardships, Trials of the Day of Judgement:
10 - Forgiveness, Mercy of Allah:
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidahullah) in response to the false claim of those who love and listen to anasheeds:

The statement, “I listen to anasheeds as an alternative to music”, is like the one who says, “I wash urine (away) with urine.” [at-Taleeq ala Ighaathatul Lahfaan 26/5/1437].

Attaching One's Heart to Other than Allah is Pure Harm - Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn

In this clip Abu Suhailah 'Umar Quinn (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) narrates: "Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said: "So, connecting the heart to other than Allāh, attaching your heart to other than Allāh as regards your hope and your fear and your reliance and your worship, it is pure harm and there is absolutely no benefit in doing that and whatever occurs by a person doing that meaning connecting his fear and his love and his hope, and his reliance to the creation, even if he still gets some benefit from that then it is still Allāh who decreed that and who made it easy for it to happen and cause it to reach you, even though you didn't deserve it."

Listen to this extremely beneficial reminder for us all.
