O Shaykh, is it permissible for a man who has divorced his wife, with the first or the second divorce such that she is in a state of lesser removal al-baynuna as-sughra or the lesser the removal which is lesser due to the first and second divorce, does he have the right in the Islamic law that he may have sexual intercourse during the waiting period i.e. during the Iddah period, before the divorce, comes to its end i.e. the lesser divorce? During the Iddah period is permissible for a man to have intercourse with his wife during this period?

Question: May Allah treat you well, the questioner says “I want to go to Mecca for Umrah but I am afraid due to the Coronavirus. Is this a weakness in faith or taking the necessary means? 

Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan: This is weakness in reliance upon Allah the Exalted. Place your trust in Allah and go for Umrah, pray in Masjid al-Haraam and do not fear anything except Allah the Exalted. If a prohibition is issued preventing entering a country based upon a report from doctors then there is nothing wrong (with following this report). The Prophet may Allah exalt his rank said about the plague:

"If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5728)

Thus if a probation is issued based upon correct knowledge, then do not go. But as long as the doors are open, and the people are performing Umrah and visiting the Prophet’s Masjid, then do not have this severe fear.

Noble Shaykh what is the ruling regarding prayer behind the barelwis? 

Knowing that I am in Britain and I have no other Mosque near to where I live in my city. So, what should I do? Is it allowed for me to pray in the house, in this condition or not?

This is the translation of a lecture by Shaykh Muhammad Naasir-Uddin al-Albaanee (rahimahullah Ta'ala) in which the Shaykh gives advice to Jamaat Tableegh our brother and Ustadh Abdulilah Lahmami (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) translate this advice in a four-part series of lectures.

I have taken the original lecture recordings and edited them to remove a lot of the background noise and with the permission of Markaz Muadh and Ustadh Abdulilah Lahmami I am now uploading them here.

In this series of lessons, our brother and Ustadh Abdulilah Lahmami (hafidhahullah Ta'aala) in which he translates a pamphlet which was transcribed from a lecture delivered by the Noble Shaykh Rabee' al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullah Ta'aala) in 1391, which is possibly 50 years ago in the presence of Imam Abdul-'Aziz ibn Baaz (rahiimahullah Ta'aala).  It was also published in an article in Islamic Magazine in 1392.  This is very beneficial writing, concise, clear to the point.

Additional class notes from the explanation of Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-Jaabiree (حفظه الله تعالى) Translated by Abdulilah Lahmami

The fard (obligatory) prayer has shuroot (conditions), arkaan (pillars), and wajibaat (obligations).

Conditions are prerequisites for the salah. A person is not excused from them regardless if he was ignorant of its obligation, or if he forgot, or if he deliberately left it.

Pillars are those things that a person is not excused from due to ignorance, forgetfulness or deliberate omission. The prostrations for forgetfulness cannot compensate for the omission of a pillar.

Wajibaat are those things that if a person omits them due to not knowing of its obligation or forgetting it, then the salah remains valid, and the prostration for forgetfulness can compensate for what was left out. Deliberate omission, however, invalidates the salah.

This series of 9 lectures were taught in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The first one being delivered on 7th Jumaadaa Al-Oolaa 1435 and the last lecture was delivered on the 1st of Sha’baan 1435.
