Q&A Session - Shaykh Abdul-Khaliq Madi

Recently a conference took place as Markaz us-Sunnah, Alperton.  The guest speaker was Shaykh Dr. Abdul-Khaliq Madi (hafidhahullah Ta'ala). Over 3 days the Shaykh (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) taught:  The Beneficial Means to a Happy Life by Shaykh Abdur-Rahman al-Sa'di.  Also, during this conference there was an almost 3 hours long questions and answer session of which the following is a breakdown.

All of the classes were translated by Abu Ukkashah Abdul-Hakeem (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

The question have been slightly paraphrased for ease of understanding:

Question 1: It is the case that I find myself to be from those that they fall into sins upon occasions and repent, and I often advise my soul, and I tell my soul, do not fall into sin! To the extent that I advise myself, do not sin and do not disobey Allah, because Allah (subhanahu wa Ta’ala) He sees you. There is the case I found within myself, some kind of determination, sadly, to persist upon that sin and I end up returning to it.  What advice can be given in such a situation and condition?

Question 2: We are a congregation of youth that go to a government school, and we don’t find the ability and time to pray Salatul-Jumu’ah outside the school because we are unable to leave.  Is it allowed for us and what is his advice if we were to establish Jumu’ah, both the Khutbah and the Salah inside the school?
Question 3: It is the case I suffer from an illness that doesn’t allow me to focus, and I find it the case that every time I try to read the Qur’an or I enter into Salah, I find it very difficult to concentrate and I find that I lack patience in that regard. what advice do you have for me?

Question 4: So there several questions from several different brothers concerning the fact that their family are actually Rafidah, from the extreme of the Shi’a, and the ask that is it allowed for me in that circumstance if I was to enter the home to give salam to my family and eat from the meat, even if it's the case that they purchased from a Sunni, or from Ahlus-Sunnah?

Question 5: It's the case that my father passed away over a year ago and it's our belief that he died due to medical negligence. Alhamdulillah and Qadr Allahu ma Shaa Faal, All praise belongs to Allah, indeed it was the will of Allah.  He does as He pleases!

The hospital tried to give us all of their information in which indicated actually there was some kind of negligence that had taken place, but it is the case, sadly that for us to raise the issue with the courts, it is the case that we have to go for some kind of process in which we would engage in interest. So, is it permissible in that regard if we wanted to try and pursue this within the courts if we were to use this process that would sadly require us and to force us to engage in interest.

Is it permissible for us if that's not the case to use other means of somehow making a complaint against the hospital, may Allah reward you with good?
Question 6: Is it permissible for a person to have a limb amputated like a hand or foot, if it's the case that the doctors have advised with that?

Question 7: The question comes in two parts. The first part is, what is the ruling for a husband that struggles a lot to pray Fajr in Jama’ah and his wife has tried a lot, almost everything to wake him up for Salah, but he doesn't! Very rarely does he go to Jama’ah, and his excuse is that he's always tired and he's stressed, and he has lots of debt problems and his family on the south of and all of this doesn't help him.  I’ve tried giving him naseehah, cold water, threatening with asking for divorce, but it's not working, and he says that he's tried but doesn't really know why he’s struggled so much with Fajr and why he doesn't pray. As his wife I feel I hate staying with him.

The second part is that he also smokes, and I've told him that it is Haram to smoke and it's like killing and he says that this is my weakness, and I cannot give up smoking the one go! What is your advice to me and my husband as he might be hearing this lecture now and note that we have a son together, and I fear that he might have bad influence on him?
Question 8: So what advice would you give to young student of knowledge who finds themselves wasting time on the phone and on social media?

Question 9: What should one do If their father does Sihr?  I don't have much evidence other than that he would collect our nails and put Taweer on our walls.

Question 10: Indeed, I've heard some people saying that migration from the UK is only Mustahab, it is something which is recommended, is that correct?

Question 11: The sister wanted advice how she can stay patient and not lose hope with her children that suffer from, and have been afflicted with autism and she struggles with child has been affected with what advice would you give?

Question 12: What advice would you give to a person who has been afflicted by Sihr, by magic and is the reading of Suratul-Fatihah on a cup of water, for example, something which is of benefit and likewise is the use of Qist al-Hindi or Bahari is and black seed, is that likewise a type of means of, in shaa Allah, a type of cure for a person who's been afflicted by Sihr, along with reading the Qur’an, in shaa Allah!  and if it's the case that we know the person who has done the magic can we go to them and can we confront them, what should we do?

Question 13: What advice could you give for somebody that's just lost a child who was only a few weeks old?

Question 14: Is it permissible for the sister to wear a khimar, a scarf that comes from the head and covers typically the chest that which is beyond it. And sometimes it's less and sometimes it is more than that. With an abaya instead of wearing the jilbab, i.e., over the abaya?

Question 15: The shaykh (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) was asked for encouragement in terms of the parents to attend the lessons inside of the masjid because perhaps they come with some kind of excuse as to why they don't attend them?

He’s Not Referring to ME! - Mustafa George

Here are some words for thought from a soon to be released lecture by Mustafa George (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) titled: Characteristics of a Righteous Woman.

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) talks about the importance of bringing ourselves to account.  Are we implementing that which we have learnt?

When he scholar advises with something, are we from amongst those that contemplate over whether or not that advice applies to me, or do we just think that it applies to so-and-so!

Biography of Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree - Abu Umar Farooq

We don't often come across a good biography of Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

Here is something I found from Abu Umar Farooq (rahimahullah Ta'ala) on the explanation of Usool us-Sunnah of Imam Ahmad by Shaykh 'Ubayd that he taught at Masjid ibn Baaz in London and was posted on the official SoundCloud account.

As a side point here is an audio by Abu Idrees Muhammad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) recorded when Abu Umar Farooq (rahimahullah Ta'ala) passed away.

Part of Perfection of One’s Islam is His Leaving that Which Doesn't Concern Him - Hasan as-Somali

It should be simple enough to understand, but many of us still don't get it!  Getting involved with things that do not concern us.  Messing in other people's affairs, as if it is our right to do so.

Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gives us a reminder regarding this particular point during Lesson 23 Riyadh al-Sāliḥīn Being Conscious of Allāh Pt. 3.

A reminder benefits the believers.  May Allah enable us to benefit fully from all such reminders, Aameen

A Tremendous Advice to Imam Ahmad from Jaabir Ibn 'Aamir - Abul-Hasan Malik

One of the greatest fitan in the history of al-Islam is the fitnah that took place in the time of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah Ta'ala).  The fitnah of the khalq al-Quran (Qu'ran being created).  Many great scholars lost their lives during these testing times.

Here a benefit from Abul-Hasan Malik (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that he mentioned during a lecture about the life of Imam Ahmad during the Winter Conference of 2018 at Germantown Masjid.
