Here is a khutbah that was delivered on Friday, 12th September 2020 at the Masjid Ibn Baaz, Philly, and posted on the South Philly Dawah Center SoundCloud account.  It was delivered by Hamzah Abdur-Razzaq (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).

It has been digitally remastered to clean up some of the background noise and is now being posted here, walhamdulillah.

The following lectures were taken from a section found in the Mukhtasar Seeratun-Nabi from Imam Abdul-Ghani al-Maqdisi al-Hanbali (rahimahullah Ta'ala) who died in 600 H, the author of Umdahtul-Ahkaam.  His cousin was Imam Muwaffaq-ud-Deen Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi (rahimahullah Ta'ala) the author of classic treatise Lum’at-ul-‘Itiqaad (Sufficiency in Creed).  

The lectures were delivered by Abdulilah Lahmami & were delivered at Markaz Muaadh Ibn Jabal on their SoundCloud account. The section that was utilised was related to the affair of akhlaaq (manners).

Being the man of the house doesn't just entitle you to sit at home "studying" and not provide for the needs of your wife & children.  

The reward for his status of being a man is that he spends from that which he earns to feed & clothe his family, the result of which is that he will be rewarded by Allah for this reason.  So, how about the one who just studies & and doesn't take care of the needs of his family, using the excuse that he is studying the deen.

We have some individuals who are upon sin throughout the year, disobedience to Allah. Drugs, alcohol, music, clubs, fornication and adultery.  Spending their money, time and energy upon it.  Now it is time to obey Allah and they give it a few days, not finding sweetnes they turn away are return to their old ways.

In the 48th lesson of Al-Mulakhas Al-Fiqhee a question is asked to the attendees by Abu Adam Jameel Finch (hafidhahullah Ta'ala):

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Here is a reminder we are constantly in need of, from the beginning of a khutbah by Abu Uwais Abdullah Ali (rahimahullah Ta'ala), titled: Sins to Avoid During Ramadaan.

How often do we see this, not only do people use their mobile phones in the masjid, which in itself in not impermissible.  Some, unfortunately use it to watch videos of movies, some even listen to music.
