Six Things That Lead a Person Astray - Hasan as-Somali

We have been ordered to worship Allah by obeying his commands.  This is from al-Fitrah (natural inclination) to worship him alone and stay away from that which opposes it.

Part of al-Fitrah is loving the truth and detesting and hating falsehood because the truth is sweet, it is delicious to the heart and falsehood is bitter to the soul. There is light upon the truth for all those that want to see it.

Of the things that lead people astray is Jahl (ignorance).  Ignorance allows falsehood to spread like a fire will spread in the forest.

Now, listen to how Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) in this short but concise khutbah brings 6 things that lead a person astray.

Reasons why people go astray:
1 - al-Jahl (Ignorance):
2 - al-Khawf (Fear):
3 - al-Kibr (Haughtiness & Arrogance):
4 - al-Hasad (Envy & Jealousy):
5 - Mixing with People Upon Falsehood:
6 - Sins:
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Correct Hijab is Not Just a Head Covering - Mustafa George

From the classes of Bulugh al-Maram taught by Mustafa George (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at Masjid Rahmah, Newark, NJ, here is a very important reminder that a woman has to observe a "proper hijab", especially in the time that we live in, when they are exiting their homes.

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) also reminds the brothers of their responsibility in making sure that this is done correctly, for they will also be held accountable for their responsibilities.
