The 3 Root Causes of All Sins - Hasan as-Somali

Here is a khutbah delivered recently by Hasan as-Somali (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) at Germantown Masjid.

It was based on the following statement of Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah Ta'ala), who said:

❝The origins of all sins are three: arrogance, which led Iblis to where it led him; the desire for more, which expelled Adam from Paradise; and envy, which provoked one of Adam’s sons against his brother. Whoever is protected from the evil of these three sins has surely been safeguarded from evil. Disbelief stems from arrogance, sins from greed, and tyranny and oppression from envy.❞

The following PDF was posted on his (hafidhahullah Ta'ala)'s official Telegram channel:

Compatibility in Creed is a Prerequisite of Marriage - Abul-Hasan Malik

Here is an extremely beneficial khutbah delivered by Abul-Hasan Malik (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that deals with the importance of compatibility in Creed (Aqeedah) being a prerequisite of marriage.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to determine the date of the khutbah but it was uploaded more than 10 years ago

So, you are looking to get married? What are the questions that you should be asking?

Should they be questions like: "Can you take care of my needs?" "How much money do you have in your account?" "How much money do you earn?" "Can you take care of my bills?"

Should you be looking for how well he is known in the community?

Or, should you be asking about his Deen?

When asking about his religion should it be superficial questions such as does he drink alcohol, or does he get high?

Or, should you be asking about his Aqeedah, his Salah, and his understanding about the Branches of Tawheed.

Have a listen to what he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) mentions as to what you (sisters & brothers) should be looking for in a life partner.
