Eating in Restaurants which Serve Alcohol - Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree

This recording has been taken from the Miraath Publications website & has been digitally remastered (a little) to remove a little echo & background noise, walhamdulilah.

Shaykh 'Ubayd Al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) was asked the following question:

Is it permissible to eat in a restaurant where they serve alcohol?

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gave the following answer which was translated by Abdulilah Lahmami (hafidhahullah Ta'ala):
Transcription of the answer:

It is apparent that the owner of this restaurant must be a disbeliever and if he happens to be a Muslim, then he is of the sinners. This is because if one fears Allaah he wouldn’t sell alcohol in a restaurant or anywhere else. The Prophet (ﷺ) has cursed ten people regarding alcohol and from them is the one who buys it, the one who carries it, the one who sells it, and other than them. So, it is clear that it is not allowed to sit in places where alcohol is being drunk. However, if those who enter a restaurant which sells alcohol are not able to go anywhere else because they are Musaafirun (travelers) and there are no other local restaurants which do not sell alcohol, then I see that it is not a problem eating there; however, if there are other restaurants there which do not sell alcohol then it is upon them that they should only eat in the restaurants which do not serve alcohol.

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Listening to Audios from the Scholars and Students of Knowledge - Uways at-Taweel

At the end of the lecture delivered at Markaz Mu'aadh in Slough, titled: Seven Obstacles in the Path of Seeking  Knowledge, some questions were taken by Uways at-Taweel (hafidhahullah Ta'ala), he (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).  One of them was the following:

Is listening to audios from the scholars and students of knowledge the same as sitting with people of knowledge?

He (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) gave the following concise answer:
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Stop the Discord - Abu Uwais Abdullah Ali

This is a discussion brought from many angles by Abu Uwais Abdullah Ali (rahimahullah Ta'ala) to address the issue of something that plagues the Salafi community at times, the issue of discord within our communities, in his (rahimahullah Ta'ala's) "unique" style.

He (rahimahullah Ta'ala) places a great emphasis on the importance of how it is essential that we must work extremely hard to really and truly try to stop the discord that has occurred within our communities, with the hope of being a good example for the future generations to emulate.

It has been digitally edited before being posted below, walhamdulillah.

May Allah aid the ranks of the Salafis in true unity of His Word, Aameen

Saying "I Don't Know" Is Better than Speaking about the Religion without Knowledge - Abu Idrees Muhammad

The following benefit has been extracted from a lecture titled: Safeguard the Tongue & Private Parts by Abu Idrees Muhammad (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) that was posted on the Masjid as-Sunnah YouTube channel.

The audio has been digitally remastered to improve its overall quality, walhamdulillah.

It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî -- Allâh have mercy on him -- said: "The intelligent person's tongue is behind his heart: when he wants to speak, he first thinks. If [his words] will be in his favour, he says them, and if they will be against him, he does not speak. And the ignorant person's heart is behind his tongue: when he merely thinks of saying something, he says it, whether it is for or against him." [Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-'Ilm article 2049.]

Considering this, listen to the following benefit, barak Allahu feekum.
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance will be rewarded like those who follow him in the guidance are rewarded, and that will not decrease the reward of those who have followed him." [Collected by Imām Muslim]

Real Men Work - Raha Batts

A young man came to a father, to ask for his daughters hand in marriage.

Her father asked: "What do you do?"

The young man responded: "I am a student of knowledge."

The father once again asked, while clarifying his questions: "I didn't ask you about that, I asked you, what do you do for a living?"

If you want the hand of my daughter, in marriage, you need an income to be able to support yourself and her.

Do not come to me and tell me that Allah will provide.   We both are aware of the fact, that ultimately, Allah is the one that provides, but you have to use the means in order to be given that provision.

Listen to this benefit from a lecture titled: Get Off The Streets by Raha Batts (hafidhahullah Ta'ala).  The extracted benefits can be found here.

Listen to some of the modes of employment our Salaf had whilst still being "students of knowledge".  May Allah have mercy upon them all, Aameen.
